The Quadrennial Election of Officers 

Persons interested in in being considered for the following offices are to submit a letter and resume appertaining to that office, and emailed to The Rev. Dr. Eleazar Merriweather, Nominating Committee Chairman at emerriw@aol.com.  All submission must be in by February 5, 2021.

 

Office and Duties:

President - manage the fiscal matters in the life of the Association; submit recommendations and programs to the Executive Board for review and implementation; make reports on the work of the Association and projections for the future; preside at all meetings of the Association unless he or she delegates the authority; be an ex-officio member of all committees and boards of the Association

Executive Director – disseminate the edited account of the Annual and related meetings to all bona fide members of the Association; publish and distribute to bona fide members an annual newsletter; plan and implement the general program of the Annual meeting and to consult with the Denominational Convention Manager in logistics; serve as a Chairman of the Executive Board, appoint standing committees (with consultation of the President) consisting of at least seven members each: Nominating, Research, Legislative, Finance, Ecumenical Involvement, Membership, Program Archive - to gather, preserve, hold title to and disseminate materials of the history of Association.

First Vice President – The President and the Executive Board shall determine the duties of the 1st Vice President beyond the usual functions of vice presidents.

Second Vice President – Receive annual individual membership dues, individual and/or Church contributions for the operational budget of the Association; to distribute membership cards, award certificates, and receipts for dues and contributions.

Treasurer – Shall be the official custodian of the funds of the Association and shall make regular reports of its financial status operations; provide a security bond for the faithful performance of his/her duties, the cost of which shall be borne by tire Association. He/she shall be responsible for the details of receiving, accounting and disbursing of funds at the direction of the President or Executive Director.

Financial Secretary – To oversee policy concerning the flow of financial resources within the association. To receive funds on behalf of the association and keep accurate account of the same. All fuds turned into the Financial Secretary must be recorded and turned over to the Treasurer for deposit. The Financial Secretary will work closely with the Treasurer in ensuring monetary accountability and provide reports to the Executive and Membership when requested.

Recording Secretary - shall record the minutes and proceedings of meetings of the Association and shall be subject to the direction of the Executive Director in performing clerical duties of the Association.

Assistant Secretary - Shall assist the Recording Secretary in the performance of the above duties

Chaplain  - Shall help to ensure the spiritual well-being of the Association through prayer, counsel, biblical instruction and example. The Chaplain is responsible for assisting with religious programmatic gatherings, as well as providing input to the overall well-being of the Association.
